I enjoy using negative space in my stonework. While drilling the holes for this piece, I instinctively followed the original outline of the marble. A lounging body appeared, inspiring the title. I have always wanted to inscribe a stone, and this piece was perfect for a scrolling line or two colored with ink and sealed with wax. I left the back untouched to showcase the natural texture.
